Transparency International UK Chief Executive Daniel Bruce to step down after seven years

Transparency International UK today announced that Chief Executive Daniel Bruce will leave the organisation in September to take up a new role as Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Channel 4 Television.

Daniel has led TI-UK since October 2019, a period in which the organisation further established itself as one of the UK's leading voices on anti-corruption. During his tenure, TI-UK secured landmark reforms to shut down flows of money into the economy whilst safeguarding integrity in politics. He led high-profile efforts to expose suspected corruption in Covid 19 contracts whilst attracting new funders for TI-UK's work and strengthening its role within the global Transparency International movement.

Daniel Bruce, Chief Executive, said: 
"It's been an extraordinary privilege to lead the vital work of Transparency International UK for nearly seven years. Time and again over that period, events have shown that tackling corruption is far from a niche cause in far-flung places. Murky Covid contracts, misconduct by those in authority, dirty money in our economy and big money infecting our democracy all happen on our doorstep. I am enormously proud of what our team has achieved together in confronting these threats, driving real change in law, regulation and accountability for wrongdoing. This work is far from over, and I know TI-UK will continue to make a profound contribution to society in the years ahead."

The Board will shortly begin a recruitment process for a new Chief Executive. Duncan Hames, Senior Director of Policy and Programmes will lead the organisation on an interim basis from late September.
