In the wake of Russia’s war in Ukraine, the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Bill is a crucial contribution to improving the UK’s armoury for tackling dirty money. However, key loopholes remain in the Bill.

This paper sets out Transparency International UK’s views on how to improve the regulation of post-public employment for former ministers and high-ranking civil servants in Westminster. It provides:

• an overview of the potential benefits and risks of the revolving door
• a review of the current arrangements for regulating it in Westminster
