Communications Manager – Fixed Term

Transparency International UK (TI-UK) is the country’s leading anti-corruption non-governmental organisation, and is part of a global coalition sharing one vision: a world in which government, business, civil society and the daily lives of people are free of corruption.

We recognise that our fight against corruption depends on effective engagement. We are looking for an experienced, dynamic interim communications manager who can ensure the effective delivery of key communications activity whilst we shape our communications team of the future and recruit a permanent Head of Communications. You will be used to working with stakeholders of all levels and have strong media experience as well as the ability to manage our social media presence and develop online content.

About the role

Reporting into the Deputy Director of Fundraising and Communications, you will be responsible for maintaining TI-UK’s brand and media presence during this time of change.

This will include:

  • Working with each of TI-UK’s four programmes to plan and deliver media and social media activity and online content to support their advocacy work, ongoing projects with media/investigative journalists and report launches
  • Monitoring media activity, producing our weekly media report and supporting the organisation to spot and respond to opportunities to secure corruption-related coverage
  • Responding to media enquiries and help maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Coordinating and maintaining TI-UK’s social media activity
  • Guide and oversee the delivery of our fortnightly newsletter
  • Support with reputation and crisis management if required

 

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • At least four year’s communications and media experience
  • A track record of delivering effective results through media and social media activity
  • Excellent communication skills – with the ability to make complex information inspiring and engaging for different audiences
  • Excellent relationship management skills – with experience of working with multiple stakeholders to deliver results
  • The ability to plan and prioritise multiple demands on time and resources
  • An interest in Transparency International and the world of anti-corruption
