Communications Assistant


  • Full time (35 hrs pw) 
  • Initial 2 months (until 21st December 2018) with possible 1 month extension 
  • Salary: Annual rate of £18,565 (London living wage)

About the role

As an assistant in the Communications Team you will be responsible for assisting the day-to-day activity of a lively and busy department, working both proactively and reactively to push TI-UK’s anti-corruption message to the media.

You will be expected to keep up-to-date on a daily basis with how corruption is portrayed in the press and help keep colleagues informed of media trends. You will assist the Communications Manager in working with journalists to deliver news stories covering our work, as well as help running social media accounts to ensure our content is relevant, engaging and on trend.

The role will also help identify different target audiences across the organisation and help tailor our messages to those audiences, including working on a regular newsletter to members.

In addition you will:

  • Provide support with online and print design as required
  • Support the successful running of the 2018 TI-UK Annual Lecture

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A keen interest in news and communication and the ability to search global media for relevant stories
  • Ability to think creatively about how to best communicate the anti-corruption fight to different audiences
  • Ability to work both in a team but come up with new ideas independently
  • Experience of running social media accounts
  • Some experience of design in both online and print

The Communications Team makes up one half of the Fundraising and Communications Team and works across the organisation to deliver timely and relevant comms outputs to all teams. They are responsible for all media relationships, pushing TI-UK work out to media, all websites and social media accounts and design of print publications.
