Objectives
The objective of this Programme is to encourage the adoption of measures to tackle major domestic corruption issues in the UK and promote reform of corruption law. The TI 2006 Global Corruption Barometer showed that a majority of UK respondents felt that corruption is a serious problem in the UK.
A TI-UK working group is being set up to develop and guide a series of projects that will involve research on major domestic corruption problems and the publication of recommendations for dealing with them. Building on its work on a Corruption Bill, TI-UK will be contributing to the Law Commission's study of corruption law reform. The Commission is expected to make its recommendations in late 2008.
