Anti-corruption summit pledges and OGP national action plans: How do they stack up?

Anti-corruption summit pledges and OGP national action plans: How do they stack up?

Transparency International recently found the commitments made by governments at the Anti-Corruption Summit to be significantly new, ambitious and concrete, but lacking any formal mechanism for follow up.

We believe that the Open Government Partnership’s National Action Plans (OGP NAPs) are potential vehicles for monitoring and implementing these Summit commitments. Of the total 648 commitments made at the Summit, 505 were pledged by OGP governments. By working with their civil society partners to include their anti-corruption commitments in their NAPs these governments can play an enormous part in deepening the real impact of the Anti-Corruption Summit.

In this paper Transparency International and Transparency International UK share a list of issues committed to at the Summit which are ready to be included in NAPs and have potential to be included in NAPs.

A guidance for next steps for embedding Summit commitments in NAPs is also included.
