Transparency International UK’s intern programme offers suitable candidates placements of up to 3 months. The precise nature of the work will be specified when the intern joins, but in general we seek to strike a balance between involvement in a specific research project (50%), ad hoc projects, and general administrative support (50%).
The internship is designed to benefit both the intern and TI-UK. The intern may be expected to do some basic administrative tasks, but this will be balanced by more intellectually demanding projects.
Applications are welcome from those with the required skills and experience. These will include:
-
At least a Bachelor’s degree, preferably a Master’s degree, in a relevant discipline (we will consider undergraduates in exceptional circumstances for the summer period, particularly those studying for relevant degrees, with a track record of academic excellence)
-
Familiarity with the transparency, accountability, and anti-corruption discourse
-
Fluency in English and ability to write succinctly
-
Familiarity with Microsoft Office
-
Highly organised, self-motivated, and reliable
No prior work experience is necessary – this is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to the work of a dynamic and hands on anti-corruption organization, interacting with senior staff members.
The Internship is an unpaid position, although the costs of daily travel up to a maximum of £40 per week (equivalent to travel to and from our office from London Transport zones 1, 2 and 3) and lunch will be reimbursed.
