The TI-UK Annual General Meeting was held on Tuesday 22nd November 2011 and was open to members only.
Following the formalities of the AGM, Bill Hughes, the former Director General of the UK’s Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA), spoke on the theme of organised crime and corruption in the UK. You can download the transcript of his speech here
Bill Hughes was appointed the first Director General of the agency in 2004 and he retired last year. He has 35 years of experience in policing and law enforcement work and has served in numerous national and international roles during his career. Originally he joined Thames Valley Police and served as an Assistant Chief Constable and Deputy Chief Constable in West Yorkshire before joining the National Crime Squad, one of a number of bodies which were merged into SOCA.
