Pharmacists forced to exploit the NHS

Transparency International’s Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare Programme discusses the accusations against Boots of exploiting an NHS scheme to boost profits.

Michael Petkov looks at pharmaceutical companies that are part of an ongoing and unresolved investigation related to the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA). He notes that just under 17% of companies that are part of an ongoing and unresolved FCPA-related investigation are in the healthcare sector, and looks at what can be done to reduce corruption in the sector.

Michael Petkov of the Pharmaceuticals and Healthcare Programme looks at the hunger strikes of the Nepalese orthopedic surgeon Dr Govina K.C. – highlighting the endemic corruption within the medical education system of Nepal.
