To mark world anti-corruption day, Transparency International UK hosts an inaugural lecture today on the global challenge of corruption.

The Rt Hon Lord Robertson of Port Ellen, Former Secretary General of NATO, who has been greatly supportive of Transparency International’s Defence Against corruption work in the defence industry, will discuss why corruption is a scourge of global society and why, coupled with weak governance, it is among the greatest challenges of the 21st century.

He is expected to underscore the importance of new bribery legislation and highlight his ‘ultimate hope… that countries and companies can form a double fortress against corruption, in which each fortress not only protects itself but supports and protects the other.’
