Global Infrastructure Anti-Corruption Centre

TI(UK) welcomes the establishment of a new Global Infrastructure Anti-Corruption Centre (GIACC). Catherine and Neill Stansbury, Directors of GIACC, have until recently led TI’s work to prevent corruption in the infrastructure, construction and engineering sectors.
GIACC is an independent organisation which provides resources and services for the purpose of preventing and dealing with corruption in the infrastructure, construction and engineering sectors. These resources and services are provided for the assistance of all stakeholders in these sectors including governments, project owners, funders, contractors, consulting engineering firms and suppliers of equipment, materials and services. GIACC offers: The Resource Centre: This is a web-resource which provides free access to information, advice and tools designed to help stakeholders understand, prevent and identify corruption; and Anti-Corruption Services: These include: advice to stakeholders on the design and implementation of government, corporate and project anti-corruption measures; and training workshops on the nature, extent, consequences and risks of corruption, and on the prevention of corruption.
Chandrashekhar Krishnan, Executive Director of Transparency International (UK) said, “Neill and Catherine Stansbury have made pioneering contributions in the past five years to TI’s work to help this major industry sector to act collectively to confront the problem of corruption through practical tools such as a Project Anti-Corruption Systems. We look forward to working with GIACC and industry partners to advance our common objective of eliminating corruption in this sector”.
