We are the UK Chapter of the world's leading non-governmental anti-corruption organisation, Transparency International (TI). With more than 90 Chapters worldwide, and an international secretariat in Berlin, TI has unparalleled global understanding and expertise.

Corruption is the abuse of entrusted power for private gain. It hurts everyone whose life, livelihood or happiness depends on the integrity of people in a position of authority.

Our vision
A world in which corruption is greatly reduced and the UK has zero tolerance for corruption both at home and abroad.
Mission
Our mission is to combat corruption in the private and public sectors at the national and international level. We do this by increasing awareness of corruption, building constructive partnerships with government, the private sector and civil society and developing practical tools to combat corruption.

Governance
Transparency International UK is a company limited by guarantee and was set up by a Memorandum of Association on 1 March 1994. It was registered as a charity (number 1112842) on 27 January 2006. We are politically non-partisan and do not investigate cases of corruption.

Members
Members have a formal role in the governance of Transparency International UK, being entitled to attend the Annual General Meeting and to vote in elections to the Board of Directors. There are currently around 100 Members. More information about Membership can be found here.

TI-UK's anti-bribery policy
TI-UK has a zero tolerance policy towards the paying and receipt of bribes. We have worked with a group of NGOs, including Mango, Bond, Oxfam, Water Aid and Global Witness, to develop a set of Anti-Bribery Principles for NGOs, to which we subscribe.
